Since I was a child, I was fascinated by videogames. I discovered new worlds, solved puzzles or fought as an barbarian against the powers of evil. It was fun, it was challenging and it fired my imagination.

I'm an 27 years old diploma gradate in multimedia and communication. During my study I worked as an intern at Deck 13 a Video game Developing Company, located in Frankfurt/Main. This encouraged my desire to not just play but create this unique and fantastic game worlds, myself. Concerning my diploma thesis I wanted to find an issue which also deals with that. Moiras Hairstyle

Today I changed Moiras hairstyle and changed her forehead to get a better silhouette.
I Think that's it for the first 3D concept of her head. Next steps are some assymetries and variations in her face.

Moiras Face - now I like it ;)

Today I refinded the sculpting of Moira. I'm quite content with it now and hoping to start soon retopologizing the model to get a good mesh for her head.

Moira get's a face - maincharacter concepts

The last days I made some concepts for my maincharacter Moira. The result are some pencilsketches, color concepts with photoshop and three drafts sculpted in Zbrush.

Glimpse of my story



"It is an adventurous game about a girl in a mysterious world between life and death"


Introduction:

"Moira is a 12-year old girl and that's anything else than candy. She has a brother which bothers her all the time, no real friends and school is more than horrible for her. With a few words, she hates her life. But when her best friend and cat "Mandigo" is about going to die and in the middle of the night the death in persona has come to her room to take the soul of her friend the catastrophe is perfect. When trying to stop the death from his mission she gets accidentally sucked into the Twilight World and makes acquaintance with all kinds of obscure things and creatures, who know the secrets of life and death. Will she find here a way to bring the soul of her friend Mandigo back to her world?"


The main locations of her adventure are set right now and in the near future some concepts of them will appear in this blog. So let's get back to work ;)

Birth - The beginning of my diploma thesis

Starting in April 2009 I tried to find out what I want to do exactly in my diploma thesis.

mindmap

It was and is an step-by-step process in which many ideas and researches ended no where but helped me proceeding. Literature and articles on the internet about Game-design, -play and -development also helped me. Check my book list.
